Learning about Blueprints

Once you have the style of your house decided the next step is to draw out blueprints! This is a very exciting step, because you can actually see your ideas on paper! We always recommend a rough markup that you create and then take them to a professional to get them drawn to scale and to make sure everything has been thought of!

Things to include in your blueprint:

1. Rooms, Room Names, Room Sizes

2. Walls

3. Stairs

4. Windows

5. Doorways & Walkways

6. Plumbing

7. Lighting

8. Appliances

9. Toilets

10. Showers & Tubs

11. Cabinets & Vanities

These are just a few options. You can always add more or even less. They are your plans and can be as detailed as you want them to be. A few things you may want to think about before creating your plans is:

1. Tub & Shower Size

2. Cabinet & Vanity Sizes

If you have a certain tub in mind then you need to make your plans based around it. Same with vanities! If you have a certain style in mind, you need to make sure you have appropriate space or you will be picking options based on standard sizing. This is just hitting the basics, but if you have any questions or need help mapping out some plans come see us!
