Lighting Guide

There are so many decisions you have to make when it comes to lighting, so let's see if we can make it a little easier on you!

Appropriate Sizing

Single Lights: You will take the Length and Width in feet of the room the light will be going in and add it together. You will then read that in inches. EX. You are hanging a chandelier over a dining room table and the room is 10ft by 12ft. You'd add 10 +12 and get 22! So the fixture should be 22" wide!

If you are hanging lighting above a table or island, it should be hung 30-36" above. This makes sure you are bumping your head when you stand up from the table.

If you are hanging a chandelier in a room with nothing in particular under it. Say a chandelier in a living room, hang it 7 feet above the ground. To find you what size you need, take the height of the ceiling and multiply it by 2.5 and 3. This will give you a range on how big the chandelier should be. Example: Say you have 10ft ceilings, you  would need a chandelier that is in-between 25" and 30"

Pendants should be hung 2 feet apart and hung 30-36" above the island.

Vanity lights can be 75-100% of your mirror size. Sconces should be hung in the middle of the mirror!
